It is different from another Thia restaurant!

The food was really tasty and fresh and the friendly service ever! The fried Chicken was awesome and crispy!

You can order first and sit at the table where you want to! Water is self-service and the two types of water(lemon water and just water) jars indoors and outdoors. They have some drinks and beer options!

The tables are all clean and look cute! ?

The parking lots are two sides of the building so don't get stressed!

We decided to visit this restaurant after reading reviews on some Asian social platform. The reviews raved about their chicken rice. The restaurant prepared the chicken 3 ways; the poached, the roast and the fried. Even though the poach chicken was not as moist but I’m happy to taste this preparation in Austin. Fried and roast chicken were pretty good regardless. The chicken rice can be more moist as well.
However, we enjoyed the pig tongue salad.

Interestingly, I’m curious about the special tax they charged on our bills.

My reviews as 5 is very satisfied

I've visited this place as take out when they were in the corner of the now-shuttered Hong Kong Supermarket. I decided to go to their new brick and mortar and it was just as good as before. I ordered their Khao Man Gai as a "to go" for lunch the next day (very good) and had their Boat Noodles as eat-in. I asked for it to be very spicy and she said, "Okay, extra spicy!" And it was. The only nit is that the pork balls that came with it had an odd aftertaste that some of these commercial balls have. And just a piece of gristle found in the one pork ball. But, it is obviously factory made pork ball, so not going to ding P Thai for that. The noodles, pork and soup were very good. But so spicy I couldn't finish the broth after the noodles and pork were consumed. Included is their latest menu, clipped onto clip boards. Also, half the people coming in don't realize it's counter service and start sitting down before being asked to go to the counter to order. I have my favorite "traditional" Thai place in town. It's nice to have a Thai place that offers things on the other side of the Thai food spectrum.

It's simply chicken over rice done well. It was juicy and flavorful chicken. We also got the chicken skin which kinda is like potato chips but it was not my thing to be honest.
When we came, it was a bit confusing at first because there was no waiter. You order at the counter and the table are first come first serve.

I am sure some people love the food here as I see restaurant being busy when we visited. This food is not my type. If you are used to Thai food, let the name not fool you. Chicken broth tasted funny with oily smell. May be ‘Khao Man Gai’ supposed to taste like that. Parking is another issue. No priming when busy hour.

Super flavorful and punchy-spicy bowl noodle!
My girlfriend had Khao man Gai tod, (rice and chicken) and although I found it too simplistic, she loved how clean-flavored and homely it tasted #comfortfood ☺️

Came here about 3 times since they opened and everything is delicious and consistent. The boat noodles are my favorite - it’s spicy, tangy and bursting with flavors. All the dishes are so authentic and made out of love, definitely recommend if you’re looking for a casual meal!

Khao man Gai/ Haianese chicken rice is one of my favorite dishes from Thailand/singapore. I was waiting to have this specialty food in Austin. Unfortunately I am slightly disappointed that the fat rice was very bland and not flavorful at all. The fried chicken was nicely fried and very crispy but low on salt. I think they need to add a bit salt to their recipe. True you are supposed to eat it with the sauce but I want to enjoy the chicken as well. The soy bean sauce with steamed chicken was excellent! Presentation and restaurant is nice but I really hope that they can improve the flavor a bit, it will be one of the Austin’s best Khao Man Gai. Wish you guys the best!
